Standard or adjustable frame?

The frame is the rim the leaf hangs on. The configurator offers two kinds, and the choice depends on the wall thickness rather than on taste. Here is how they differ and how to get it right.

Standard frame

A fixed-width profile covering a wall of 75–95 mm. It suits most new-build flats with plasterboard or thin block partitions. If the wall is thicker, the rest has to be covered with an extension board — an extra part, an extra joint and extra time for the installer.

Adjustable frame

A profile with a sliding part that the installer pulls out to the required width. We offer two ranges: 10–14 cm and 14–18 cm. The wall is covered in one piece, without joints, and the architraves sit flush on both sides. Installation is faster, and unevenness of the opening (up to 1–2 cm) is hidden on its own.

How to decide

• Measure the wall thickness including the finish — plaster, tiles, paint.
• Up to 95 mm — a standard frame. From 100 mm — an adjustable one: the surcharge pays off in less work and a tidier look.
• If walls differ from room to room, the frames may differ too — the configurator lets you choose one for each door.

Both frames come in the same finish as the leaf, so the look after installation is the same. What differs is how much work is left for the installer.
