Doors without a rebate: the SLIM series

20 June 2026

What a rebate is, how a SLIM leaf differs from a regular one and which interiors it suits best.

A rebate is the step cut along the edge of the leaf that overlaps the frame when the door is closed and hides the gap. A regular door has one, and because of it the closed leaf stands about 1 cm proud of the frame. The SLIM series does without a rebate: a leaf with straight edges closes into the frame and its surface forms one plane with it.

What is different

  • Flush surface. A closed door is no different from the wall, only a thin shadow gap around the leaf. It looks best painted the same colour as the wall.
  • Concealed hinges. Routed into the leaf and the frame, invisible from outside. Adjustable in three directions, so the gap stays even.
  • Magnetic lock. The latch comes out only when the door is closed, so the leaf edge is smooth and closing is quiet.
  • Seal in the frame. Closes the gap and holds back sound the same way a rebate does on a regular door.

Who it suits

Minimalist interiors where the door should “disappear”; narrow hallways where every centimetre counts; flats with high ceilings — SLIM leaves are made up to 2400 mm tall and visually extend the wall.

What to know before ordering

  1. A SLIM frame is installed more precisely than a regular one: the opening must be even, within 5 mm. We recommend our installers — they work with this series every day.
  2. Handles are chosen from the list for the series: because of the magnetic lock not all of them fit.
  3. In the configurator the SLIM leaf version is marked separately — the price differs from a regular leaf in the same finish.

SLIM models are on display in our Vilnius showroom — you can compare them with regular doors and judge the gap and the closing sound for yourself. We are open —.
