How to measure a door

A few simple steps will help you measure the opening precisely and choose the right doors.

Measure the opening width

Measure the width in three places: top, middle and bottom. Note the smallest value.

Bottom

Important:measure without architraves. If the walls are uneven, use the smallest value.

Measure from the finished floor to the top of the opening on the left and right.

Left

Right

Important:measure from the finished floor. If the floor is not laid yet, subtract its thickness.

Wall thickness including finish (plaster, tiles) determines the frame type.

Wall thickness

Important:measure the wall together with the finish on both sides — the frame has to cover it.
